The Jackson, Mich., Prison War ended Thursday when officials agreed to better conditions at the prison. . . . Elbert M. Antrim «1 Mellen C. Martin of Tryon p been attending the American wspaper Publishers meeting in New York which has just censured President Truman for seizing the steel industry .... The next day after the Horse Show, Policeman Ken Melton was trying to help find a C. L. Brown who was at the Horse Show and had a West Virginia car tag. The Curb Re porter had just received the Hound Show results with addresses of winners and C. L. Brown was listed as being from War, W. Va. The information was passed along the line to the finder of two $50 bills which were left in the Glad stone Hotel in Spartanburg. The maid found the bills and reported them to the hotel owner, John Davis. All along the line from Spartanburg- to Tryon hotel folk tL police departments were seek pthe owner of the money. Just ws there are lots of honest folk trying to do their duty. Chief Ralph Prince of Spartanburg has mailed the billfold and money to Mr. Brown who said a friend of his lost the money .... The wall Street Journal of April 22 reports that Lorette, a new fabric blend of 55% orlon and 45% wool, was introduced to 1 ,200 fabric buyers last night. Peering, Milliken & Co., Inc,, sales outlet for 20 mills from Maine to Georgia, engineered the fabric in three years, at a cost of $5 mil lion.
